Evacuation Plan
Last week, I prepared a presentation for my military training class. It is interesting that the presentation is about evacuation plan in the college of humanities. The reason I made this presentation was that the military instructor asked us to introduce the evacuation plan in our department. So, what is “evacuation plan”? In brief, evacuation plan is the route for people to escape when an emergency happens. Therefore, it is important that we should know the evacuation plan everywhere even in our familiar environment. However, I think that a few people really spend their time on the evacuation plan. Although everyone understands the significance of it, we always ignore the possibility of disaster. Take me for example, I have never looked the evacuation plan in our department. I really realized clearly until I prepared this presentation. Before I looked for the evacuation plan, I consider that it is posted on the wall near the elevator. However, I couldn’t find the evacuation plan. In fact, our department prepared some evacuation plans which were posted on the wall near the classroom. We could see them easily when we raised our head. (See picture 1) If we looked at the evacuation plan carefully, we could
find that there were detailed explanations. In
addition to our department, the college of
humanity posted the emergency exit signs to
notice people. (See picture 2) In the route, we could
also see lots of fire-fighting equipment, such as
fire extinguisher, hose cabinet, and escape sling.

Apart from the college of humanity, I want to share the emergency shelter in our school. When the earthquake happened, people in our school would leave for the sports field to take refuge. Due to an open area, we can avoid the damage from the collapse of building. On the other hand, the only entrance and exit in the college of humanity is the gate because of the epidemic. In other words, we can’t enter or leave from other places. As a result, we should put more attention on the evacuation plan. Besides, I recommend that school can assign all departments to make “All People Fire or Emergency Prevention Guidance”. Furthermore, the best situation is that departments can progress the exercise of disaster prevention. Although these preparations seem complicated and boring, we can’t ignore any possibility of disaster. After all, “make hay while the sun shines” is the best.
